Citizens can easily follow the various debates that candidates begin to have with one another on news media and the internet. Those who want a more well-rounded view can benefit by watching a variety of shows and news channels. This gives them a chance to see many different viewpoints to make an educated comparison.

One of the exciting influences is the participation of volunteers in political campaigns in support of a particular candidate. Many young people get involved in these campaigns, anxious to make a difference in society. This can be a positive experience and help to unite people in support of a particular cause.

Campaigns can also become controversial when mudslinging occurs between candidates. This happens when each side tries to bring to light negative aspects of the other’s life and work. This can often cause negative feedback from the general public when this is featured in the news media. An Inside Look at the Kazakhstan Elections

Elections are a major part of the Kazakhstan government’s political system. Both the country’s president and members of the lower house of Parliament are elected by achieving a majority of the votes in a public election.

Although elections are a major part of the government in Kazakhstan, they are not without controversy. Here’s a look at some of the recent controversies surrounding the election of government officials in Kazakhstan.

The Presidential Election

When Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev was up for reelection in 2011, he won with an overwhelming majority of the vote. Estimates show that he received 95% of the vote.

This large majority of the votes has caused many citizens and political leaders to question the election process and even demand for a switch to a more transparent electoral system. It is believed that with a transparent system, voting would not be so secretive and it would lower the chance to cause corruption within the political system.

The Lower Parliament Election

The last election for seats within the lower Parliament was held in 2007 and it was not without controversy. The top political party won every seat in the lower house at the time. Election results showed that 88% of the votes went to the Nur-Otan party.

Such a high amount of the votes for one political party has caused political opponents to question whether the elections were properly conducted, or whether it was just a matter of the leaders of the opposition party not being strong enough to gain the public’s vote.

Announcing a Candidacy for President

It seems as if whenever you turn on the news these days, you hear at least some talk of those who are or are not putting their hats in the ring for the next presidential elections. What’s just as curious is how the “news” seems to leak to the public. It may be the candidates themselves that are hinting to the public that they may just see their names on the ballot. If you think about it or pay attention to the announcements that unfold from now until the time the ballot comes out, you’ll notice some other patterns.

If the candidate does not want to come out themselves and yell, “Hey, I’m thinking about running for president,” you may notice that someone close to them says it for them. It could be a member of a political party or a personal friend or family member of the potential candidate that just so happens to be having a conversation with the member of the media.

Assembling an Exploration Team

While it is a wise move, it is also a strategic move, when a possible candidate says that they are assembling a team to explore the possibility of running. These teams tend to conduct research, do polls and work very hard to see if it is a viable option for the candidate to run. At this point, it is not so much as to whether or not they will win a race for president, but simply that they can make the ballot for running on behalf of the party.

The time was when you could only judge a candidate for the Presidential election by what you heard on the radio, read in the newspapers or heard in a debate. This left many with information that didn’t seem to give the full picture of the candidate. This having been said, not being overwhelmed with unrelated information can help to keep the basics in sight. There is an incredible amount of information available on each candidate in many forms. It can be found on the news on television, in the newspapers and magazines, on the radio and now everywhere on the internet. It is difficult to know what is true and what is extra information; that does not tell a true story and paints a bad picture of the candidate.

However, the increased amount of information can help voters have a better feel for their candidate and what the candidate stands for. This is important when you are trying to decide which candidate will represent your views appropriately. You need to be able to go through the information that is coming in and filter it leaving only the information that best represents what the candidate is really all about. This is where the voters have to really understand the point of view of the candidate and ignore everything that is not pertinent to the important topics of society.

When it comes to using the large amount of media outlets to assess which candidate is best suited for the job, taking what is important and leaving what is extra information is behind will go a long way. If you try to take in all the information and use it to shape your ideas about the candidates in your mind, you may end up with a false idea of that candidate and their ideals.
